Meet Doctor Schonfield

           Robert Schonfield grew up in a small town on Long Island, the eldest of four children born to Harvey and Marilyn Schonfield.  From age twelve he aspired to become a dentist in "Small Town, USA".

He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey, in 1977 and went on to attend New York University's College of Dentistry, where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery {DDS} in 1980.  Dr. Schonfield is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association,  New York State Dental Association, Fifth District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

{The International Congress of Oral Implantologists is a non-profit worldwide dental educational organization dedicated to communicating scientific knowledge and improving the clinical practice of implantology worldwide.  Dr. Schonfield is an active member who has also recently acheived "Fellowship Status".  Congratulations!!!  Although reaching this newest goal is certainly a great personal accomplishment; it is also a testament to Dr. Schonfield's on-going commitment and dedication to his profession and his patients alike.}

After dental school, Dr. Schonfield traveled the world while serving as a general dentist in the United States Army.   Upon arriving at his newly assigned duty station- Ft. Drum, New York- Dr. Schonfield knew the north country would be home! In 1987 he decided to get out of the Army and pursue his childhood dream of opening his own practice.  He brought this dream to fruition  when he opened the doors to his private practice right here on Bellew Avenue in August of 1988.

Son, Zachary, followed Dad's lead...as he is a successful Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing in New Hampshire where he now resides with his own family.

When he's not hard at work here in the office,  Dr. Schonfield has many interests. He finds gardening very relaxing as he spends countless hours on flowers and vegetables alike. This works out well since he also loves to cook and enjoys testing new recipes on family and friends. The man just doesn't sit still for long!

 * Dr. Schonfield feels fortunate to be living out his childhood dream in upstate New York and looks forward to providing many more years of caring service to his friends and neighbors.*

   Doc's Vision...

It is my vision to have a team striving to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about dentistry all while providing competent, and compassionate care to our patients.

As the field of dentistry continues to evolve, it is my hope that our team will embrace the changes that may come, and look for opportunities that it may create as we seek to be trendsetters in our field.  I believe in investing in technology and in people to create long term alliances.  The relationships and alliances we build today will be the foundation for all future successes of this practice.  It is my hope we can learn from past mistakes, knowing they will be part of our growth.  When we always look forward and not backward, no project will be beyond our reach.  Success will result from the efforts we as a team have put forth.

Success is our goal, but it will be the result of our efforts
